CT Scan Results...

So last night my doctor called me a little before 6 and told me he had my results back from my CT Scan. He said that where my pain was at looks good, but they found a dark spot on my liver so now I have to go and have an MRI done to get a closer look at my liver and make sure nothing is going on there. Other than that I'm still on stomach medication so help keep the pain down and hopefully the MRI goes good. It isn't scheduled yet and I don't know when it will be. As soon as it happens I will let everyone know.

Health Update

Today I went in for my CT Scan and it was AWFUL!!! Don't get one if you don't have too! I had to be on a 4 hour fast before I went in so the first thing I did today was I woke up at 6 o'clock this morning to drink some nasty barium liquid vanilla flavored nastiness for two hours before I even left for the hospital to do the test. When I got to the hospital I filled out my paperwork (why I was having a CT Scan...what has been hurting...when's my date of birth etc) and about 5 minutes after I was done filling out the paperwork they called me back to start the scan. I sat down on the bed and the man that was working told me what we were going to be doing, an iodine contrast scan, and said that we needed to start an IV for the iodine and also in case I had an allergic reaction. He tried to start the IV in my forearm and missed my vein and got another nurse who tried in my other arm next to my elbow, twice, and searched around in there for about 15 minutes and didn't find the vein. So the man went and got one more nurse to try and start the IV and she looked and kept looking until she found one and THEN she poked it right about where my thumb bone meets my wrist. It was a deep vein, but she finally got it so they hooked up the rest of the IV and as soon as that was hooked up we started the scan. The machine would talk to me and tell me when to breathe and to hold my breath and the scan took less than 5 minutes. When they put the iodine in me it made my body feel like it was on fire and I felt like passing out...the first time that has happened to me (feeling like passing out). It was the weirdest feeling ever! When the test was all finished the lab guy had me sit on the side of the bed and bandaged all my "poke sites" and gave me the instructions for after the procedure. I went to work and then I went shopping with my mom, not having eaten anything from the fast I had to be on, and almost passed out in the middle of Wal Mart. That was exciting. So pretty much now all we are waiting for is the results to make sure I'm going to live. That will come in at the beginning of next week, when I am at girls camp so it will be a while before I update.

Health

So this past week I have been to the doctor twice to figure out what is wrong with me. On Wednesday I woke up with this weird pain in the left upper side of my stomach and it kept getting worse and worse. On Thursday we called the doctor and went in and he said he didn't know what was wrong with me. He said it could either be a swollen stomach or a swollen spleen. In my head I was thinking, "Uh neither one of those sound very fun doc." So he gave me a perscription and ordered some blood tests to be done. I went and got all of those and scheduled a follow up for Monday morning. All weekend the pain would be okay in the morning and by the time nighttime would come around it was awful. So I went in on Monday morning to see what my test results said and the pain wasn't too bad. Even the doctor said I wasn't as tender as I was on Thursday. The blood results came back normal so he is even more puzzled. He said that it could've just been a viral infection or it could be a pulled muscle. He told us that we could either do nothing about it and see if it gets better or we could do a CT scan just to make sure nothing is gonig on inside that shouldn't be. So next week I get to go in for a CT scan just to make sure I'm normal and nothing is going to explode inside of me. Hopefully everything turns out okay. I'm still alive. That's all that matters right now!

My Best Friend

My best friend in the entire world is Christopher Aaron Carrell. He has been my best friend/boyfriend for the past two and a half years. Although he has been serving his mission for the past year and a half of that. He is serving his mission in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro North Mission which is going to be changing to a different name sometime soon. He has loved serving his mission and I love that he is going to be coming home in December! I am really glad he decided to serve his mission though. It's been the best thing that has happened to him. He has learned a ton and I'm happy for him. He got to call on Mother's Day and he is doing good. We had a couple of good laughs when a good friend of my family came over to his families house with my sister to talk. A little about him. His favorite colors are orange and blue. One of his favorite foods is frozen pizza and pumpkin pie. He loves his family and the church. He loves playing golf (that one I don't understand) He loves doing things with his hands, whether it is building houses from construction work, building a swing set, or a chicken coop or anything else. One of the best things that ever happened to him was moving to Thatcher AZ and meeting a bunch of good friends that have stood by him and made him want to be better. And of course meeting me! These are some pictures of him from his mission.

This Past Week...

Last weekend was Stake Conference. It was amazing of course and at the end they handed out these pass along cards with a picture of the Gila Valley Temple on it. We were issued a challenge to pass it along with friends that aren't members. On Friday this past week we had a fireside. It was Elder Richins who is in the 70. He talked to us about avoided temptation and not resisting temptation. It was an amazing talk and I am so glad that I went. That night we also went to Relay for Life. (I have no pictures because my battery was dead in my camera.) Saturday we went bowling. It was very fun!!
Today it was my best friend Adam Wright's "farewell" talk. He talked about peace and the ways that he can achieve that. He is such an inspiration to me and I'm going to miss him so much! When he first moved to Thatcher High School his dad told me that he just wanted to go back to Safford so I made it my goal to become a good friend of his so that he would want to stay at Thatcher instead of going back to Safford. We were in the same ward and had a few classes together and we ended up becoming really good friends. We were seminary presidents in the same class our senior year and we had to work together a lot and during college we became really good friends. He is one of my best friends now and I am so happy that he is going to serve a mission in Belem Brazil. He is going to be an amazing missionary! I'm very proud of him for living his life right!!

Also this week I moved out of my house! I'm living with one of my other best friends Jessica Russell. We live in a trailer out in no man's land and it is fantastic! We love living on our own even though it is quite a change. As soon as we get it cleaned up a little bit I will post some pictures!
As soon as more things happen I will post them! This was my past week in a nutshell!

Inspirational Thoughts

http://mabrystudios.typepad.com/reflections_of_christ/2008/03/reflections-sli.html

This slideshow of pictures of Christ is one of my favorite things. Mark Mabry is the photographer of these photographs. They were at the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center for about 6 months and I went to go and see these pictures. They are absolutely amazing! He came to Thatcher for a fireside and told us about his experience taking these pictures and how he came to the conclusion that this was why he went into photography. These pictures mean a ton to me about my Savior. Mark Mabry is a very talented photographer to take and edit these to touch so many people's lives.

This video is from a talk given by Jeffrey R. Holland about our Savior and his journey back to the father...alone. It was very inspirational and it made me realize that the Savior really does understand what we are going through no matter if we think that he isn't.

Both of these show me about the love our Savior has for each person on the earth. He loved all of us so much that he died for us so we could return to live with him. For that I am eternally grateful!

Kellie's Baptism!

So on Saturday one of my very best friends from high school, Kellie, decided to take the plunge and get baptized! I'm so happy for her and she is such a fun and amazing person! So I couldn't go down for the baptism on Saturday because of clinicals and a girls camp meeting, so on Sunday I drove to Glendale for her confirmation and "The Family" from high school was there and it was a big "Family Reunion!" I was so happy to see my friends Vance and Logan who are up in Utah going to school and to see Kellie and her roommate. And of course me and Mandi complete the deal! It was a fun trip and even though it was really short for such a long drive it was fun to talk to everyone for just a little while and to catch up on everything! Here are some pictures of "The Family!!!!!"

Spring Break Vacation

So for Spring Break this year my family and I took a road trip up to Oregon/Washington. It was lots of fun but it was a long drive there and back. And everyday that we planned to go somewhere it was either snowing or raining or hailing. So we didn't get to see all the things we wanted too...especiall Mt. St. Helens (it was snowing really bad that day and we were almost snowed in on the mountains.) So that was a disappointment but other than that we basically saw everything that we wanted to. We went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and got some ice cream (which was delicious) and we also saw Multinomah Falls and we went to the Bonneville Dam too. And the fish place...that was kind of weird and we saw this ginormous fish named Herman. We also saw some old family friends named Steve and Inez Griffels. When we went to the coast we saw this tree...well it's named the "Octupus Tree" and it has lots of arms coming off of it. It also had a sign that said not to cross over the fence, but Erica and I did anyway cause our mom dared us...so we had to! You can see how huge the arms were! Look how tiny we look trying to hug the branch! Then my mom, Erica and I took a picture of us in front of the tree.Anyway these are some pictures from our trip that was really fun but really long!!

Maybe I will post more pictures later! But this is all for now!

Everything!

Ok. So I'm new at this and I'm not sure how this works but I'm going to tell about my night last night! My sister Erica has started hanging out with some kids from Safford and it turns out that she hangs out with the Safford Quartet. (The people in the quartet are Tyler, Rylan, Caleb and Jake. In order from left bottom to right bottom!) Anyway, I have been hanging out with them and they are good friends of mine too...I think anyway! And for quartets they are singing my most favorite song "Everything" by Michael Buble. So good! Anyway. Jake's ward was having a talent show and since I can't go to the concert because of class they invited my sister and I to go to the ward talent show and they dedicated this song to me and made me go sit in front of everybody while they sang me the song. I didn't care though because it's kinda hard to make me embarrassed and I really love that song and I told them they could do it so I guess I had it coming! Then after the talent show we went to Caleb's house which is sooooooo amazing and I love it and I want to move in with them...anyway we had a hot tub party and we jumped into the really cold swimming pool, well we went down the slide that was next to the waterfall...ya like i said AMAZING!! and had a bar b que and a fire going with s'mores! This is a picture of all the people we put into the hot tub. It was a blast and I really enjoyed it! I guess it's a good thing my sister and her friends enjoy having me around cause I was the only one there not in high school still....but I love all these people anyway!

Beginning

So I don't really know what this is all about. I'm really new to this but I am Andrea Ferrin and I love life! I will post more later I guess.
